Discover a host of fabric design possibilities using edding textile markers!

T-Shirts, table cloths, textile bags, bed linen, arm chairs, cushions and much, much more can all be drawn on and decorated. Pick up a few tips and ideas here at edding creative and, with the help of the edding textile markers, become a fabric designer at the flick of a wrist!

It is so easy. Here is how:
Before you start drawing, give the fabric a quick wash, allow to dry and iron. Washing helps remove the finish with which many materials and textiles are provided/ impregnated.
Either draw designs or write inscriptions on your fabric freehand or use a design template which - depending on the properties of the particular fabric - will also show through, enabling you to trace the template with complete ease. You can use a sublimation pen to draw on the material in rough to begin with: later, its outlines will soon fade away by themselves once more.
Next, choose which colour you wish to use from the rich range of 20 brilliant pigment inks and use the edding 4500 textile marker or the edding 4600 textile pen to colour in your design.

Leave your artwork to dry for a few minutes. Next, iron your creation, ideally from the left and without steam!  Iron the whole thing for about 3 minutes -  and there you have it: your design will be fixed on the fabric and will even survive many wash cycles up to 60°C. But watch the maximum wash temperature of the material itself!

Tip: a whole host of different materials are ideal for being drawn on with edding textile markers. However, it is always a good idea first to try out the marker in a place that is not too obvious to test whether your material can be drawn on accurately using the textile markers.  This is because there are a few mixed fabrics on which the ink of edding textile markers runs somewhat.
