Stone
Stone is a compact object made from a mineral or rock that is no longer connected to its original subsurface.
Rock was the first material in the history of Man to be used to make tools (stone implements), thereby giving its name to oldest human civilisation, the Stone Age.
A distinction is made between igneous rock that has come from cooled magma (e.g. granite), metamorphic rock, such as marble, and sedimentary rock, created by weathering and erosion (e.g. lime sandstone).
A whole host of different types of stone can be inscribed or drawn on with ease using many edding markers such as edding paint markers.
